American Masterpieces is an initiative designed by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to bring the best of America’s cultural and artistic legacy to communities across the country. “Our artistic and cultural heritage defines us as a nation and as individuals and it is incumbent upon is to conserve it, to celebrate it and to help it thrive,” said Dana Gioia, the chairman of the NEA.
The 2008-2009 New Jersey season of American Masterpieces represents diverse artists and disciplines including dance, music, theatre and visual arts in locations throughout the state.
